Hello and welcome to my first blog post on green tech! No it will not be about whiskers on kittens :) Since we are just meeting, I thought I'd just share some links to my favorite products, websites and stories I am most interested in. So here are a few of my favorite things:
- Okay, first I want to say that I think we are a bit over the top on the whole sanitizing everything front. There are some times when it is appropriate BUT somehow slathering chemicals all over everything and increasing the chances of "super bugs" does not seem like the best answer. So here is a way better product that has used technology to find a less toxic way to do the same thing as all those scary chemical versions- an easy switch that can have big impact on both your health as well as the environment!
- So this is more of a way that technology is helping to empower people to make better choices than an actual green technology, but it's one of my favorite resources on the web so it counts for this post (P.S. you do NOT have to sign up to use the sight, just skip past that pop up screen.
- Last up is more of an area of green technology that I like to follow. I don't think many people realize the impact "using the Internet" has. They just log on and imagine it lives inside their laptop/tablet/phone. Well, the reality is that all that equipment needed to store, manage and deliver your favorite websites use up a lot of energy and resources. So I am a big fan of any tech that helps reduce that footprint as well as the organizations that adopt them since it's not something they usually get a lot of recognition for. Hey Jenni,
ReplyDeleteYour blog is very professional looking and does have a lot of interesting information on it. I will have to admit that I am not very green at all and after reading some of your links I feel like that I am totally in the dark when it comes to chemicals and the environment. I only recycle that is about it. Thanks for the info and I will continue to follow
Thanks! Recycling is a great step, the key to doing more is to learn about one smaller topic and incorporate a few changes at a time. Then once it becomes habit choose another topic. That way it's not so overwhelming :)
DeleteThanks for all the great info! I do agree, making one change at a time is the best and easiest way we can all make a difference.
DeleteHoly Information! After reading your post I feel like I have learned so much about being green. It is truly apparent how passionate you are about the topic!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm glad you learned something and I will try to scale it back a bit.
DeletePerfect design for the topic.. I am getting more green. More green = money saved... =)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove your blog, going green is always something that I have in the back of my mind. Thanks for being inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy inspiring positive change!
DeleteVery nice Blogging Site, it's easy to see the difference between someone that is comfortable with blogging, and others that are totally new to it.
ReplyDeleteAbout being Green, I am so bad. The only responsible thing that I do now is recycle, but I am really going to work on getting better...
